A debate competition was organized by Central India Kidney Foundation on 26th January , Republic Day. The topic for the debate was “In the opinion of the house , Health of the citizens is exclusive responsibility of state ”.
30 students from 18 colleges from the city participated in this debate . First prize of Rs 1500 /- and trophy was bagged by Ms Divya George of Ambedkar Law College , second prize of Rs 1000/- and trophy was won by Ms Shyamali Naidu of Sindhu Vidyalaya and third prize of Rs 750/- and trophy was won by Ms Isha Warhade of Ambedkar College . The Best College trophy was won by Ambedkar College of Law represented by Ms Divya George and Pallavi Malwar . Consolation prizes and certificates were awarded to all participants .
Dr Vedprakash Mishra , Vice Chancellor , Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University was the chief guest and Dr Mrs Usha Nair , Director , Orange City Hospital was the guest of honor . The program was held at Institute of Engineers hall , North Ambazari road . Dr Manoj Pande and Dr Anubhav Dabir were the judges . In his address Dr Vedprakash Mishra said that the health of the individual is responsibility of the government as well as the citizens . 80% of the health is being looked after by private entrepreneurs while government takes care of remaining 20% of population . There is no way that the government could take care of health of all its citizens . He said all the medical colleges who have post graduate degree course will have dialysis unit to take care of critically ill patients . Dr Mrs Usha Nair lauded the works done by Central India Kidney Foundation .
The program was moderated by Mrs Das of Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya .
Earlier president of Central India Kidney Foundation Dr Mrs Vandana Khushalani welcomed the guests , vice president CA Anil Rathi briefed about the activities of the foundation . Dr Rajesh Soni proposed a vote of thanks . Dr Mrs Bali , Dr Narkhede , Dr Moushumi Acharya , Mr Jobanputra and large number of students were present on this occasion . Program was convened by Dr S.J.Acharya.
